The Woodie’s DIY National Novice Cross Country Championships took place in Ballyhaise, in Cavan on the 7th December, Dean Crowley of Gneeveguilla was the highest place Kerry athlete taking 2nd place in the Boys U11 800m and Gneeveguilla took third place in the team event (Dean, Patrick Warren, David O’Connor, and Colin O’Keeffe). Cian Murphy of Iveragh took 5th place in the Novice men’s 6000m Full results U17 Girls 2000m 10 Mary Fitzgerald, Riocht A.C.

In 2008, over 70 locations around the country will organise GOAL Miles in their own localities. Thousands of dedicated people came together on Christmas morning to literally go that extra mile for the poor. Kerry is hosting GOAL Miles in 5 locations around the county; you can run, jog or walk the mile and make a donation to GOAL to help some of the poorest people across the globe. December Sunday 21st-Newmarket to Kanturk Annual 5 mile road race in aid of St Josephs Foundation Charleville. Starting at 1.30pm sharp outside Newmarket Co-op will be the Mens, womens and juniors race. The Juvenile races start at 11am. Fun walk starts at 1.00pm. €5000 in prize money to be won on the day
January New Years Day Beaufort 10km Road Race starts at Beaufort Hall at 2pm.
