The Woodie’s DIY National Juvenile Track and Field Championships were held
at the Antrim Forum over the weekend. Many Kerry athletes braved the long
journey up to the North, some by plane and some took the long road by
minibus, to achieve an admirable 10 gold, 6 silver and 4 bronze tally of
medals
Heavy rain and strong winds combined to make it tough first day for
athletes and officials alike however Sunday was much improved with many
fine performances. Eoin O’Carroll of Tralee Harriers won 3 medals whilst
Eilish Fitzpatrick of Gneeveguilla won 2 gold medals for her 100 and 300m

At the Stryker 4 mile road race on Wednesday evening 320 finishers and
amongst them Tim O’Connor finished 3rd in 20.55, Donal O’Callaghan 4th in
20.57, James Doran 6th 21.05, and  2nd in the O45s was Tom Shanahan in
23.18 all from An Ríocht AC.
