The Munster U10-U12 Team Competition & U13/U14 T&F except Pole
Vault/Hammer/Discus were held in warm and sunny conditions at the track in
Templemore over the weekend, with many athletes from Kerry making the long
journey up to Tipperary. Lios Tuathail, Tralee Harriers, Gneeveguilla, St
Brendans and Spa Muckross all had athletes competing against the best from
the rest of Munster and the competition was tough on both of the days but
many medals were won.

On Bank holiday Monday Ardfert held their Open sports afternoon, The
weather was fantastic and much suntan lotion was needed as the many
competitors from near and some from quite far away attended. Tralee
Harriers scooped the best overall club with 109 pts, while Lios Tuathail
were second with 84pts. Brian O’Seanachain LS was named male athlete of
the day and Louise O’Connor TH was the best female athlete of the day.
Many parents competed in the masters competitions with Mike Joy of Estuary
taking gold in the men’s shot and 36lbs for distance.
