The AAI combined events took place over the weekend in Tullamore with the juvenile B championships taking place on the Sunday. Tralee harriers had 3 athletes taking place in the combined events with Mary Doody being the best placed with a silver in the U14 girls event. Gerard Browne was placed 8th in the U14 boys with Danny Pierse taking 9th place in the U15 boys. In the B championships Brian O'Seanachain of Lios Tuathail A.C. took 1st place in the U13 high jump with a 1.26m jump,with team mate David O’Neill took silver in the U14 long jump. Estuary Ac had some good placings with Stephanie Collins took 2nd in the U16 long jump and third in the U16 100m and Tara Finucane taking 2nd in the U16 shot.

The Kerry Senior Track and Field Championships were held last Friday evening in An Riocht.The Quill cup for the senior mens event went to Farranfore Mainevalley for only the third time in their history.The overall womens title went to St Brendans AC. Standout athletes on the night included James Nagle FFMV winner of the Hammer,Discus,Triple jump,56lb weight and second Shot,Katie O Shea also of Farranfore Mainevalley winner of the hammer,shot and third in the javelin.Ailbhe Courtney St Brendans winner of the 100m,200m,high jump and second in the triple jump and Sinead O Connor Tralee harriers winner of the long jump,triple jump and second in the 100m. Other winners on the night included Mary Theresa Moynihan Javelin,Ian Crowley high jump,Niall Prendiville 3km walk all FFMV,Cian Murphy 3000m,Karen Curran 3000m,Colm Lynch 200m all Iveragh,Jamie Green pole vault St Brendans,Colm Rothery 800m Gneeveguilla,Ciaran MCCabe 100m,Mary Fitzgearld 800m both An Riocht,Conal O Callaghan long jump Spa Muckross and Patsy O Connor Tralee Harriers Javelin.The Senior mens 4x400m was won in style by the St Brendans quartet of Luke O Keeffe,Luke Evans,Jamie Green and Stewart Nolan. Guests from other counties who competed on the night included Irish International Liam Reale who competed in the 800m and 3000m,David O Shea 100m and 200m,Brian Murphy 200m,Denis Finnegan Long Jump and triple jump,Peter Shallow 110m hurdles and Nathan Jege long jump.Well done and thank to everyone for making it a successful night.
