The Munster All Star Awards took place on the Saturday 31st January 2009
at Christy's Hotel, Blarney, Co. Cork. There were plenty of winners from
Kerry with
Daniel Clifford of Farranfore Maine Valley winning the Junior Men’s Track
and Field award and Patsy O’Connor of Tralee Harriers taking the award for
the senior men. For their achievements in the Juvenile Track and field
events, Michael Godley of Tralee Harriers and Mary Fitzgerald of An Ríocht
won the Kerry awards, with an award for special achievements going to
Claire Fitzgerald of Tralee Harriers for her many successes over the year.
The cross country under 23 women’s award went to Laura Crowe of An Ríocht
who had a great season last year with many more triumphs this year no
doubt. Club mate Niamh O’Sullivan won the master women’s cross country
award well deserved after her great season including a win at the Munster
Cross Country event in January

Kerry Colleges Cross-Country Championships 2009 held at the Demesne,
Killarney on Friday, 30th January. Over 200 boys and 160 girls competed on
a dry day with soft underfoot conditions, representing secondary schools
from Kerry. The shield for Best Girls School was shared between Mercy
Mounthawk, Tralee and Presentation Killarney. There was a three way tie
in the boys competition between Colaiste na Sceilge, Tralee CBS and St.
Brendans, Killarney. Munster Schools Cross Country takes place on
Thursday, 12th February, at Tramore Racecourse, Co. Waterford.
