Nenagh was once again the venue last Saturday  for the national combined events and relay championships.On Saturday Clarence Kennedy St Brendans was involved in a titanic battle in the junior mens pentathlon where he ended up finishing a close second with 2700 points to Emmanuel Sobayabo from Limerick on 2785 points.Clarence who is underage for this event for another two years recorded indoor personal bests in all five events,60m hurdles,long jump,high jump,shot and 1000m and lifetime personal bests in four events excluding the high jump.Ger Cremin of An Riocht returned to action after being out for a few years to claim bronze in the senior mens pentathlon  with impressive displays across all five events especially the 60m hurdles finishing on 2487 points.

    The national senior 56lb weight for distance is always held at this competition every year and James Nagle of Farranfore Mainevalley finished third with a good throw of 6.99m.James also partnered Daniel Clifford in the 2 x Shot putt where they finished second and Daniel in his first year out of junior threw a huge personal best of 14.20m.St Brendans AC took five medals in the relay events with Ailbhe Courtney and Una Marley taking bronze in the triple jump and high jump and combined with Emily Brick and Caoimhe Casey took bronze in the 4x400m.Dylan Roche combined with Clarence Kennedy during his busy day in the triple jump where they took silver with Clarence going over 12 metres for another indoor personal best.Clarence was again involved with PJ Galvin in the 2 x high jump where they took a comfortable second place.
